We loved our stay at Wayfarer Inn. The price was incredible and we were so happy to be able to bring our dog! We had the king size room with an “ocean” view. Unfortunately the view was very minimal but the room was nice. Mornings were a tiny bit loud with road traffic but having the windows shut worked just fine! The bathroom was the only thing that we felt could use improvement however it was well stocked and the water was always hot! We really enjoyed meeting the manager and the courtyard was so cute with Italian Villa vibe. We would absolutely stay here again with how walkable the location is. Close to the city center and beach.

My wife and I stayed here on a Wednesday night and let me tell you, Carmel is absolutely stunning, even slightly secluded on a weekday. To start off this place is not bougie, which is a breath of fresh air for the area. This is not to say that the room was uncomfortable in anyway, but rather that it was nothing short of authentically stunning in a way that only quaintness could achieve. There was absolutely no need to superimpose any kind of ocean theme decor or "modern" interior design over what was already perfect in it's simplicity. That said, we stayed in room 17 with an ocean view that no picture uploaded could do any justice. We left the windows open all night as we slept under adequate bedding topped with the addition of a second blanket found in the closet. Carmel at night has an aroma of sea, cypress, and faint fire wood that sooths and comforts to the sound of the waves, and you can experience it all right there in the room. For those who want a more utilitarian explanation of what to expect; there is ample free parking just behind the building, a bathtub/ shower combo, shampoo/conditioner/ body wash dispensers mounted in the shower, a hair dryer, several tables to put things on, and a room right when you walk in to the front entrance big enough to fit two bikes if you plan to ride 17mile drive. Down the street are all the creatures comforts of a non franchised village like town. Coffee, good coffee, is just a walk away, and so is the beach if you're adventurous. I've said almost all I can say accept that Mike, the owner, is a gentleman with the concerns of his guests at the forefront of his mind. He was kind enough to let us keep our car parked in the lot when we went to bike, and accommodating enough to make check-in a literal breeze even after-hours. AND I almost forgot to mention the best part. We got to bring our dog! 10/10 enchanted trip, would go back everyday if I didn't live so far away.

Took a family vacation and stayed here. I can’t stress enough that this is the best place to stay for the money! The location is AMAZING and in the heart of Carmel. The rooms are clean and spacious. As I was checking out the front desk asked me to leave a review and told me to tell them what they can improve on. They really want to make it the best stay possible for guests. As he asked the one thing I would improve is the hot water consistency in the shower. It really was an enjoyable stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The only place throughout 3 weeks of US roadtripping in over 11 different hotels where daily housekeeping happened without needing to ask for it. I appreciate that a lot! Friendly host, clean room, good place to start exploring the town. And good price. Just perfect!

Have you heard or used the expression "it gets the job done"? Well this is what I use to describe this hotel. I gave it a 5 star rating because it's great for me and my family. The room is nice but not to nice. They have rooms that accommodate bigger families. Fire place. Dog friendly, and close to many locations within Carmel. It gets the Job done. The staff is friendly.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Customer service was friendly and even allowed us to check in early. Cute cottage style inn with a nice patio to enjoy your meals. It was also conveniently away from all the crowds, but close enough to walk to all the nearby restaurants and shops. Our room itself was clean and super spacious. It was wonderful waking up to the view of the ocean and sounds of sea gulls. Highly recommend on your next stay to Carmel/Monterey!
